Madrich BBQ!

ll2 On July 31st, 2011 EZRA USA held a BBQ for their hardworking and dedicated Madrichim. Under a beautiful sunny and clear sky at Hempstead Lake State Park, the Madrichim enjoyed a lazy Sunday. There was lots of good food, games, music, and great company. Some went swimming in the lake, while others enjoyed just laying out under the sun and playing a game of catch. Lot's of fun was had through out the day. A Perfect way to spend a summer day!

Summer Movie on the Beach: Top Gun!

ll2 The threat of rain on Monday July 25th, 2011 did not put a damper on EZRA USA's movie on the beach. Though the beach showing was cancelled, the EZRA USA staff with their quick thinking moved the film for the participants and alumni into the Dmitriy Salita Youth Center. The movie of the night as promised was the 80's cult classic film Top Gun, starring Tom Cruise. There was popcorn, cookies, drinks, and other yummy movie theater snacks. Participants walked out singing along to the movie theme song: "Take my breath away".

Brooklyn Cyclones Baseball!

l2 There are two Jewish baseball players in the Baseball Hall of Fame: Hank Greenberg & Sandy Koufax. On Wednesday, July 13, 2011, thanks to Igor Oberman, from the office of Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz, 24 EZRA USA participants and friends attended a game of the Brooklyn Cyclones vs. Auburn Doubledays at the Brooklyn Cyclones Baseball field. Though unfortunately the Cyclones lost, it was a good game to watch and definitely a good way to spend an evening.
